THE UNIFIED VOICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE

Compilation of Collateral Consequences (2009-2010)

The statutes and administrative rules accessible on this page were collected by the ABA Collateral Consequences Project between August 2009 and August 2010. Many of the collected laws and rules contain collateral consequences, as defined in the Court Security Act of 2007, though some do not. The Project is in the process of creating a website that will provide a more sophisticated method of researching the collateral consequences in each U.S. jurisdiction. Until the new website is available, the collection accessible on this page may be helpful in locating collateral consequences of interest through a keyword search.

The collection may be accessed by selecting a jurisdiction from the drop down menu. After selecting a jurisdiction and pressing the "Get Statutes" button, a page will display a list of the laws and rules collected for that jurisdiction. Each jurisdiction's compilation may also be searched by Keyword. Through a hyperlink each law and rule may be read it in its entirety -- with the caveat that the law or rule may have been revised or repealed since it was added to this collection. Accordingly, users are cautioned to independently research every citation at an original source.

The information provided here is not legal advice. It is only for educational and informational purposes.
